Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Dilworth

Annie Mulligan, Staff Writer

Mr. Dilworth has been a teacher at Whippany Park for two years. He has been teaching in the district for a total of four years. He taught physical education previously and now teaches Personal Finance, Freshman Seminar, Intro to Business, and Sports Entertainment here at Whippany Park. He previously taught at Pope John High School and Keansburg High School. He graduated from Wagner college to earn his undergrad and masters. He then later went to Seton Hall for an MA.

I asked him if he had to pick a job besides teaching, what would it be? He replied “ Any job involved with helping people.” His hobbies are his children. He has coached many sports such as football and track. He has had 120 All-Americans and 4 national champs. During his college career, he participated in the following sports: football, track, wrestling, and lacrosse. He loves teaching because of the event of creating a rapport with his students and watching them succeed when they thought they would fail.  To finish, he gave his opinion on the importance of education. He said, “Without education, we could not be a civilized culture. Education is vital in order to be successful for any occupation you choose.”

Mr. Dilworth is a very respectable man and one of my favorite teachers at Whippany Park which made writing this article so enjoyable.
