Field Hockey 2021/22
Whippany Park Field Hockey won conferences this year making them conference champs for the first time in 29 years for Whippany Park Field Hockey. The girls ended off the season with a record of 12-7 and were 4-1 in NJAC Independence. Alongside winning the conference some girls on the team hit personal milestones during the 2021 season. Senior Abba Diglio knocked in her 50th goal in her career on 10/6/21 when they played Mountain Lakes then went on to higher that number throughout the season. Goalie Lisa Middleton defended her 100th goal this season and will continue to kill it in the 2022 season. Collectively the girls scored upwards of 70 goals this season. The season ended on 11/1/21 when they lost to Lenape Valley 2-0, knocking them out of the NJSIAA tournament North Jersey Group 1.
Girls Soccer 2021/22
Whippany Park Girls Soccer started off their season strong on September 9th playing Kinnelon winning 4-0 and ended their season in the NJSIAA Group Tournament, Semifinal Round losing to Mountain lakes 3-0 on November 11th. Their final record was 15-6 and going 15-6 in the NJAC. The girls this year played a wonderful season so far winning Sectionals of North II group I and gaining the title as Sectional Champs.
Boys Soccer 2021/22
Whippany Park Boys soccer started off the season tying Kinnelon and working their way to a 11-7-2 record by the end of the season and going 4-4-1 in the NJAC. The boys scored a total of 59 goals, 49 assists, 171 goals saved between the goalies Alexander Cholula, Noah Kaplan, and Ian McSorley over the course of 23 games. The teams overall standing this season was 14th right above Hanover Park and right below Dover. The boys ended the season on 11/8 at Cedar Grove losing 2-0 in the NJSIAA tournament, Semifinals Round, North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1.
Football 2021/22
Whippany Park Football actually killed it this season! The boys started off the season with a win in the book against Pequannock with a total shutout with the final score totally 35-0. The week following they lost 1 of 2 total games lost this season. Overall the boy’s final season record was 7-2 placing them 5-1 in the SFC. The boys sadly ended their season in the first round of the NJSIAA tournament, North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 at Caldwell losing 48-7.
Volleyball 2021/22
Whippany Park Volleyball played a total of 21 games this season with a record of 4-19 and 3-7 in the NJAC. They pulled through with two wins against Morristown Beard, one win against Pequannock, and one win against Morris Tech in the 2020-2021 season. The girls got knocked out of the Morris County Tournament on 10/1 when they lost to Morris Hills in the Preliminary Round. They put up a good fight but their season ended on 10/29 when they had their final game of the season and lost 2-0 to Villa Walsh. But the girls will return to the 2022/23 season back and better than ever.
Cross Country 2021/22
The Boys and Girls Cross Country had a good season but every good season had its ups and downs. Whippany Park placed 12th in the 5,000 Meters Varsity B with Ashley Amitrano placing the highest on the team in 21st place at the meet of October 8th at Oak Ridge Park. In the NJAC XC Batch Meet #1 occurred Brody Yoo placed #7 out of #109 in the Small Boys 5000 Meter Run then placing Whippany Park overall 6 out of 11 total schools involved. In the NJAC Meet 6 Ashley Amitrano and Erin Troiano placed the highest for Whippany Park finishing 5 seconds between one another landing them a spot in the top 30 of the Small School Girls 5000 Meter Run while landing Whippany Park 7th place overall. The team had an amazing season this year and will continue to work hard in the seasons coming.
