Krispy Kreme Donut Sale

Gianna Rispoli and Caroline Ramundo

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Not the holiday season, FBLA’s annual Krispy Kreme Doughnut sale! Each year, FBLA members and the student body alike swarm to order the classic, glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The doughnuts may be preordered for ten dollars a dozen, or purchased for a dollar per doughnut on the day of delivery, February 21st.

The Krispy Kreme doughnut sale is not only a Whippany Park tradition but a popular fundraiser among all FBLA chapters. Our local chapter usually sells over sixty dozen doughnuts, making it our largest fundraiser of the year.

Krispy Kreme is an American chain founded in North Carolina. The idea for the shop came about in 1937. Vernon Rudolph, an American businessman, began by selling the donuts to grocery stores. Soon enough, Rudolph was bombarded by pedestrians passing by the small factory. He cut a hole in the side of the building and started selling the donuts to the sidewalk customers. The donuts were so popular that Rudolph decided to create Krispy Kreme’s own donut making equipment. Ever since Krispy Kreme has become a worldwide sensation. With over 1,000 locations, Krispy Kreme is everywhere!

From Whippany to the closest Krispy Kreme franchise, in Jersey City, is about a 40-minute drive. Instead of having to travel, the FBLA club is bringing the donuts to us! For $10 each dozen or $1 a donut, these treats are a great buy!
