The spring season has finally rolled around and you know what that means… the softball season is here! The first day of practice began on March 1st, snow and all, and the Lady Cats are working hard for their first game on April 1st against Kinnelon. The Cats ended the 2018 season with an impressive record of 13-11, and they are looking to dominate in their new conference. After the team suffered a devastating loss in the state tournament against their rival, Hanover Park, the Cats are ready to storm the Hanover Park Hive and battle some new competition this year. This season’s lineup is still relatively young, but still boasts strong return players that earned valuable playing time last spring. Seniors Olivia Cashen, Nicole Ciavatta, Madeline Lake, and Brianna Swan return to leave a mark on their last season. Pitchers Madison DiGiorgio and Julia Swan are expected to have strong performances in the circle this season. The incoming freshman bring depth to the program along with a large amount of talent. The Lady Cats and Coach Callaghan are looking forward to a great season as they “keep diggin” along the way. The team has many upcoming scrimmages this March as they get ready for game time in April. Come support the team at their home games this season. Check the website for the full schedule to cheer on the Cats!
