The investigation into the involvement of Russia in the 2016 presidential election has been an ongoing process for the past two years. However, as President Trump enters into the second half of his presidential term, there is still no direct evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. The significant number of contacts between members of the Trump campaign and the Russian government during and after the election continues to raise suspicion and investigators are still working hard to uncover direct evidence. As of right now, Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor, has not yet reported facts that show there was a conspiracy. After hundreds of interviews, Mueller’s investigation is coming to an end, yet independently, Democratic members of the House are conducting their own investigation into Trump’s activities.
